Coca-Cola and PepsiCo Team Up to Assist Returning Veterans

NEW YORK, NY, Nov. 9, 2015— One of the most storied rivalries in American business is taking a brief pause today in support of our country’s veterans. 

 

PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi and Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent have teamed up for a new public service television announcement on behalf of American Corporate Partners (ACP), a national nonprofit organization that connects veterans to business professionals for career guidance. In the spot, the two business leaders encourage Americans to assist veterans in their transition to civilian life by volunteering on ACP AdvisorNet, a free career advice site for veterans (acp-advisornet.org). 

 

By joining ACP AdvisorNet, Americans can volunteer their time from their homes, laptops, or mobile devices to share career advice with transitioning veterans, even for just a few minutes a week. ACP AdvisorNet is a fully funded, non-profit endeavor. Its aim is to encourage a dialogue whereby Americans can offer career advice to those who have served. 

 

“In today’s political climate, it’s rare to hear opposite sides agree on anything. Yet two of the world’s biggest rival brands, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, are joining forces to show their support for assisting veterans in building their next careers,” said Sidney E. Goodfriend, Founder and Chairman of ACP. 

 

The PSA is the latest in a series of PSAs encouraging Americans to join ACP AdvisorNet and offer career advice to returning veterans. Other ACP AdvisorNet television PSAs have featured President Bill Clinton, political consultants David Axelrod and Karl Rove, WWE star John Cena, Johnson & Johnson Chairman and CEO Alex Gorsky, and General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, in addition to a radio PSA jointly featuring Sarah Palin and Jon Stewart.
