Patty George is a highly experienced and passionate advocate for military families, with over three decades of dedicated service stemming from a profound understanding of their sacrifices and a desire to ensure their well-being. Her work has profoundly impacted the lives of countless military families, addressing their diverse needs while she balanced the demands of raising her own military family. Her husband, Randy, currently serves as the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Among her efforts with Soldier & Family Readiness Groups, Patty was instrumental in developing key support programs, including "Standing Ready Standing Strong," a deployment readiness workshop, and a reintegration workshop designed to ease the transition for Soldiers and their families returning from combat. At Fort Carson, she helped brainstorm "Mountain Post Living," a collaborative initiative promoting community wellness. At Joint Base Lewis-McChord, she helped develop and execute a wellness exposition for Spouses and families and championed a Senior Leader and Spouse Command Team Orientation Program.

A graduate of West Point (BS, 1988) and Vanderbilt University (M.Ed., 1992), Patty's professional background is diverse. She served as a Military Intelligence Officer with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. A “Jill of Many Trades,” her varied career includes roles as a fitness instructor, computer and math teacher, executive assistant to an HR director, and health promotions coordinator. Her latest hobby job (aka “jobby”) is with a small design store in Alexandria. She actively volunteers within her community, supporting organizations like Food & Friends.

Patty and Randy have been married for 36 years, during which they moved 19 times, raising two children and caring for their doodle dog. Their son, Grant, a Cornell alumnus and former Army officer, is now a software company chief of staff in Chicago. Their daughter, Andie, a William & Mary alumna, works in strategic operations in the tech industry in Denver. Both children are expecting their first children this summer!

Patty’s life has been defined by resilience and adaptability, embracing the constant changes inherent in military life. Finding strength in navigating the unexpected, she shares:

“As my family and I moved around the country and the world, picking up and starting again and again, we braced ourselves for corners that often brought the unexpected right to our doorstep. Ironically, just as much as this military life keeps me constantly a degree out of balance, it’s what keeps me moving ever forward, corners and all.”
