Eduardo Jany is the SVP Global Safety and Security for News Corp, a major global media organization providing security and safety management and leadership for more than ten subsidiary organizations. He is also a respected security and safety consultant and has led award winning units in physical security, protective operations, travel, crisis management and event security efforts covering more than 25,000 people at over 190 offices worldwide through innovative strategies and processes.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981 was commissioned in 1984 and retired as a Colonel from the United States Marine Corps having served 33 years of combined active and reserve duty in Anti-Terrorism, Investigations, Reconnaissance, Special Operations and Infantry assignments as well as prior service in the U.S. Army Special Forces. Eduardo also retired from law enforcement as a Captain after more than 25 years of police service in Florida, Minnesota and Washington State. He held command and supervisory assignments in patrol, SWAT, canine, narcotics and mounted units.

He received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin Platteville and attended the University of Minnesota for undergraduate studies. He was a Senior Executive Fellow at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, and completed the Kennedy School National and International Security Senior Executive Program, the National Defense University Reserve Components National Security Program, and is a graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the FBI DSEA and Graduate Academy. He is the Chairman emeritus of the Overseas Security Advisory Council Latin America CIC, the USVI Public Safety Support Foundation and is a member of the Boards of the FDR Four Freedoms Park and the Citizen’s Crime Commission of NYC. Eduardo is active in several philanthropic organizations including American Corporate Partners, Theater of War and others.

On a personal note, Eduardo is native of São Paulo, Brazil, Eduardo immigrated with his family to the United States in 1968, was naturalized a U.S. Citizen and speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. In his spare time he enjoys family time, weight training, triathlon, motorcycling, and fixed and rotary wing aviation.
