ACP Presents: Traveling the Tracks from Military Service to Railroad Success at G&W

On May 14th, ACP was joined by Genesee & Wyoming Inc., an American short-line railroad holding company that owns or maintains an interest in 122 railroads in the United States, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom; and formerly in Australia. With over 100 freight railroads across 43 states and five Canadian provinces, G&W has nearly 200 open positions in operations, administration, IT, HR, accounting, commercial and customer service.

G&W panelists included: Casey Johnson, serving as Assistant Vice President, Talent Acquisition & Diversity; US Army Veteran Jessie Ugaitafa, serving as General Manager; and US Army Military Police Veteran Sarah Chadborn, serving as Trainmaster. Together, they explored various career opportunities available to those interested in working in corporate or field roles. G&W Veterans shared their personal experiences transitioning out of the military and adapting to civilian life. While discussing strategic planning for leveraging military skills, they also emphasized the importance of staying true to one's values. The event concluded with a live Q&A session with the virtual audience.
