Atlanta Networking Night Hosted by UPS

 

On Wednesday, February 29, UPS hosted an event in Atlanta, Georgia, in collaboration with Mentors from AT&T, General Electric, The Home Depot, and Scientific Games (a portfolio company of MacAndrews & Forbes). The evening began with presentations by General John Handy and Retired First Class Naval Aircrewman David "Rusty" Kelly (The Burks Company, CNN Center Atlanta Site Manager). UPS also presented a PowerPoint on how to maximize one's job search using social media.

Roughly 100 Mentors and Protégés attended the evening's event. A networking reception with hors d'oeuvres followed the presentations.

One ACP Protégé shared how much the evening resonated with him: "All of the presentations were outstanding and all volunteers were extremely helpful and professional. The guest speakers hit many informative topics and I don't know whether to Tweet, Facebook, Foursquare, or YouTube my experience back to you. From a military perspective, meeting the UPS staff and understanding their military experiences and commitment by UPS to our veterans is commendable."
