Jon Brooks

Jon Brooks is a corporate development and legal executive with 25 years of M&A, legal and governance experience. Jon joined the ACP Board after serving for several years as an executive mentor. Jon was drawn to ACP’s mission as it combines two of Jon’s passions – the U.S. military and expanding employment opportunities for underserved populations. Jon serves as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps, currently focused on national security and cyber law. Jon also volunteers as a Field Screening Officer, helping to recruit the next generation of military lawyers. Previously, Jon served as Vice Chair of Byte Back, a charity that provides technology training to improve employment outcomes for low-income residents of the DC Metro area. Jon also is a member of the executive committee of the Boston College Law School Alumni Board, where he focuses on fundraising.

Professionally, Jon has deep experience advising top-tier private equity sponsors, including Madison Dearborn, KKR, General Atlantic and Macquarie Capital. Jon is currently an Executive Partner at Madison Dearborn, partnered with Dovel’s former CEO (and ACP volunteer) to create the premiere mid-tier platform that delivers differentiated technologies to Federal customers. Previously, Jon served as Chief Legal Officer and SVP of Corporate Development for Dovel Technologies, a leading provider of complex technology solutions to the health, human services, and public safety markets. Prior to joining Dovel in May 2019, Jon worked at Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) as the head of M&A and deputy general counsel. Jon also served as a board member of Forfeiture Support Associates, a $150 million joint venture between Engility and AECOM.

Before joining Engility, Jon served as a legal and compliance executive at OSI Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company that was acquired by Astellas Pharmaceuticals. Jon spent the early years of his career as an M&A associate at leading law firms in New York and Boston.

Jon holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and law degree from Boston College Law School.
